Restaurant paging system
A pager is a wireless telecommunications device that receives and displays alphanumeric messages. And coaster pagers are small box-like devices that the staff members hand over to diners. With pagers, diners are free to roam around in the restaurant while their tables are being prepared. They just have to wait for the pager to light up or vibrate to know that their tables are ready. After getting a table, customers return the device. If your guests are handed a pager, they will feel like someone is looking after them and that they will be called as their turn comes up.
- The customer comes and places an order. The waiter gives one pager to customer (every pager has a number on it and note down the number);
- The customer will take the pager and wait his/her order at desk or walk away at around;
- When the customer’s order is ready, the waiter press keypad Transmitter to call the pager that the customer hold;
- The customer gets his wireless signal by pager vibrating / led flashing / buzzing, then gives back the pager and gets his/her order.
A coaster pager is like a radio that responds to a single signal. This signal is broadcast by a radio transmitter over a particular frequency. Each pager has a specific identification sequence called Channel Access Protocol code, which the pager operates on. When the pager receives this code, it alerts the user and provides more information depending on its capacity.
There are various types of pagers. Vocal pagers transmit voice messages, while the numeric type displays a message that has numbers like a phone number. Alphanumeric pagers combine the two aforementioned functions they allow users to listen to voice messages and view text. Beepers are also considered as pagers that use a combination of alerts. Majority of restaurant pagers fall under this category.
Coaster pager
Restaurant coaster pagers are common in which diners are given a small device and allowed to freely roam around before the pager flashes or vibrates to signal that the tables are ready. Instead of seating and waiting, diners could enjoy a drink while waiting.
